The CONTRATIEMPO band was formed in 2003 as guitar duo – Filip Swinarski and Jarosław Czajczyński. Marta Guisado joined us in 2004. The band performs with flamenco dancers, Dominika Kupniewska and Karolina Łucznik, and flamenco singer, Fernando Guisado – Ruiz.
We perform flamenco music, playing our arrangements of known flamenco performers and our own compositions. Band’s repertoire consists of traditional fiesta styles, complex stage works and instrumental forms, enriched with elements taken from other music genere, like latin, oriental music or jazz.
We played concerts in number of culture centers and clubs in Lodz, Torun, Warsaw, Sosnowiec, Tarnow and took part in other cultural events. We had the honor to perform and cooperate with flamenco performers from Poland and abroad – with Oscar Guzman (Spain), Carmen Segura (Spain), Vicky Barea (Spain), Mateo el Gallito (Slovakia).
In 2009 we started to cooperate with National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Swietokrzyska Philharmonic and Philharmonic of Lodz, playing educational concerts across Poland.
